Coming into this season, the Cleveland Indians were on the hunt for a power bat. Granted, this is the story every year, but nothing changed as the team prepared for 2015.
This time, it appeared as though the Tribe found a winner, trading for Oakland A’s slugger Brandon Moss. An All-Star in 2014, Moss certainly looked like he could be the middle-of-the-order bat Cleveland had been forever seeking. He hit 76 home runs during his three years in Oakland, and his acquisition had many picking the Indians as a sneaky contender.
Today, he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals, yet another player Cleveland is shedding as they cement their place at the bottom of the standings.
