The Cleveland Browns’ next game – a Monday Night Football showcase against the Baltimore Ravens – just received some added intrigue over the weekend. Already carrying a little hype due to it being Johnny Manziel’s prime-time audition to be the team’s starter for the future, the game became more interesting due to the players Baltimore will now be missing.
The Ravens lost both running back Justin Forsett and QB Joe Flacco for the rest of the season yesterday. As a result, the Browns will now prep to face backup quarterback Matt Schaub and rookie running back Javorius Allen instead.
On paper, this certainly helps Cleveland’s odds of pulling off a Monday night win. However, would this result be good or bad? At 2-8, do wins really matter for the Browns anymore? Or is ensuring the team ends up with a favorable draft pick the only real way to salvage something from this disastrous season?
