Midway through the first half of today’s game between the first place Arizona Cardinals and the bumbling Cleveland Browns, it appeared as though the impossible might take place. The Browns, knee-deep in a miserable season, somehow had a 20-7 lead over a far superior Cardinals club. Cleveland fans everywhere had to be in awe, wondering how their hapless football team inexplicably found a way to outright dominate a half of football against a much better team.
However, those tried-and-true Browns fans most likely were waiting for the bottom to drop out. Sure, it might’ve been great to see Cleveland finally look like a functional football team. At the same time, if you’ve been watching the Browns for more than a few years, you have an instinct for expecting the team to fail.
Sure enough, Cleveland did just that.
