The relationship between LeBron James and Kevin Love has been one of the more intriguing storylines of the Cleveland Cavaliers ever since the two joined the team two summers ago. James, as you’ll recall, dialed up Love almost immediately after announcing he was returning to the Cavs. He wanted Love on board, and made this fact apparent.
Once Love arrived in Cleveland via a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves, though, the dynamic shifted a bit. James appeared as though he felt Love’s place on the team was merely being a three-point threat, often having him stand in the corner for most offensive sets. As a result, tension seemed to grow between the two stars, and speculation of Love’s unhappiness and desire to seek greener pastures as a free agent after the season began surging through the rumor mills.
After a poolside meeting last summer, James and Love appeared to make amends. Love re-signed with the Cavs, and the two seemed to be focused on the singular goal of winning a title.
However, this was hardly the end of the ever-changing dynamic between these two.
