The Cleveland Cavaliers’ season kicks off this coming Tuesday, and once again, it’s a year full of high expectations. The Cavs, after coming within two wins from giving the city of Cleveland its first championship since 1964, spent the summer getting the band back together. Free agents LeBron James, Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, Matthew Dellavedova and Tristan Thompson were all re-signed. Despite the fact it puts Cleveland in a salary cap nightmare, the team is well-equipped to make another run for a title.
Obviously optimism is incredibly high for this year’s team, and many around the NBA feel this is the year the Cavs take home the championship. That said, even if they do fulfill this prediction, don’t be surprised if the team endures a bit of a rocky road on the way.
