NBA free agency is always a gamble, both from a team’s perspective and a player’s.

A franchise can throw a sizable contract at someone many around the league feel hasn’t earned that kind of money with the hopes maybe things can work out. Likewise, a player can opt out of the final year of his contract, banking on himself in attempts to secure more money.
