Cleveland Cavaliers Wisely Avoid a Making Major Trade

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone and, as is usually the case, the rumors were far more interesting than the actual deals made. No blockbuster trades came through, and the majority of the big names stayed put.

This includes Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love. As the deadline neared, Love’s name kept resurfacing, with many reporting he could be moved. As of Wednesday night, a potential three-team deal had him heading off to the Boston Celtics, with Cleveland getting New Orleans Pelicans wing-man Ryan Anderson coming back in return.

However, Love remains a Cavalier. The team refused any offer it received for him and a few other players who were rumored to be on the move, instead only acquiring Channing Frye from the Orlando Magic and parting with Anderson Varejao.

While the end result was quite underwhelming, this was no doubt the best thing Cleveland could’ve done. Despite numerous stories which painted the front office as one susceptible of making a panic move, the Cavs stood pat and wisely avoided a blockbuster.
