After the Cleveland Indians – who opened the year with high expectations and a lot of losses – finished the season just short of a playoff berth, I immediately began worrying how it would affect their offseason plans. Like many fans of the team, I had significant concern the Tribe’s front office would see an inspiring finish as proof there didn’t need to be much tinkering with the roster, that the sloppy start to the year was just a fluke.
This assumption, however, is dead wrong. Unfortunately, based on the latest offseason rumors surrounding the team, it doesn’t sound like Cleveland thinks this is the case.
