Well, it’s official: much-hyped backup quarterback Johnny Manziel will return to the field for the Cleveland Browns. Coach Mike Pettine announced starter Josh McCown is simply too injured to play tomorrow night against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals. As a result, Manziel will make his second start of the year, hoping to avenge his putrid rookie debut against Cincinnati last season.
While an improved performance when compared to the drubbing Manziel endured last year is obviously ideal, it’s also incredibly important for the second-year QB’s future. Manziel has been given another chance to prove he can potentially be a full-time starter for Cleveland, and he needs to do everything he possibly can to take advantage of this opportunity.
